Iron Gwazi continues to rise in this construction update
While we were down at Busch Gardens for Christmas Town on Saturday the 16th we thought it best we head down early and snap some photos of Iron Gwazi.
Due to open Spring 2020, track pieces are going up fast and the lift hill is starting to take shape. Christmas Town from 4 pm allowed us to go down the Gwazi event pathway and snap some photos from the back of the ride as well.
Gwazi officially closed on February 1st 2015 with the Tiger side closing in 2012. Since then the station and huts surrounded the station had fallen into pretty bad shape. The thatched roof had fallen away and was almost becoming an eye sore at the front of the park. Fast forward to now and I’m glad to say they have re-thatched the roof of the station and the surrounding huts. It looks much much better and has also had a lick of paint.
The construction of the 200 ft lift hill is ramping up and it already looks intimidating without even being complete.
On Tuesday the 19th at 10 am RMC and Busch Gardens will unveil the ride car for Iron Gwazi. This will be at the IAAPA Expo at the Orlando Convention Center and we will be there to bring you updates from that event.
