The Avengers Campus Phase 1 Opening Date Set for July 18th
It has been announced that the first part of the new Avengers Campus at California Adventure in Anaheim will be opening on July 18th.
Opening with this phase will be the WEB Slingers: A Spider-Man Adventure ride with Tom Holland reprising his role as Spider-man.
As well as this will be the options to see and experience a variety of the Avengers around the campus with characters including:
- Black Widow
- Iron Man
- Doctor Strange
- Black Panther and Dora Milaje
- Spider-man (The awesome stuntronic will be swinging outside the building)
- Ant-Man and the Wasp
- Captain Marvel
- Captain America
- Thor and Loki
- The Guardians of the Galaxy
- Taskmaster (the new villain from Black Widow)
The food offerings in the land include:
Pym Test Kitchen – A food innovation science lab where the food and drinks tell a story. Just as Ant-Man and The Wasp use “Pym Particles” to grow and shrink just about anything, Pym Technologies applies this innovative science to the creation of shareable bites, inventive-sized entrees and sweet treats.
Pym Tasting Lab – Adults can order a craft beer, ranging from a blood orange hefeweizen to an amber lager or try one of the Pym Research Staff’s Pym Particle-infused cocktail experiments.
Shawarma Palace – Enjoy favorite shawarma-inspired snacks at this food cart, which is decked out with memorabilia since the Shawarma Palace owners are huge Avenger fans.
Terran Treats – Taneleer Tivan did not limit his collection to lovable misfits; he is also curating a weird and wonderful menu of intergalactic eats.
This phase will also integrate the Guardians of Galaxy Mission: Break Out ride and story line into the land. The Collector has moved his things to earth and the Avengers will be watching him closely.
Avengers Campus Attractions and Rides
WEB Slingers: A Spider-Man Adventure ride
WEB (Worldwide Engineering Brigade) is home to the first Disney ride-through attraction to feature a favorite neighborhood her: Spider-Man. This new family-friendly attraction, WEB SLINGERS: A Spider-Man Adventure, invites guests to put their web-slinging skills to the test. There will be no height requirement for the ride.
While visiting an open house presentation at WEB, guests will find themselves embarking on a mission with Spider-Man to help subdue some rogue Spider-Bots created by the young scientists before they cause chaos around the Campus.
Disney described the ride as:
The innovative technology adapted specifically for this attraction includes a seamless blend of 3D and new interface, which allows guests to go on a mission and experience what it’s like to have super powers and sling webs alongside Spider-Man.
The riders will use their wrist to fire webs at screens without having to use a gun like Midway Mania or Buzzlight year. The ride has been described as a blend of Ratatouille and the interactivity of Midway Mania. Guests will be able to purchase remote controlled Spider-Bots from the WEB Suppliers store as shown below.
Phase 2
Phase 2 will include the Avengers E-Ticket attraction. Disney says the ride will:
You will step on board a Quinjet and fly alongside the Avengers in an epic adventure to Wakanda and beyond. You will team up alongside the Avengers in a battle to save our world against one of the most powerful villains they have ever faced. Imagineers are hard at work conceiving an all-new innovative ride system to put you in the middle of this action.
