Universal Orlando Proposed June 5th Opening

Universal Orlando has proposed a public opening date of June 5th


It was announced today, Universal Orlando Proposed reopening date to the Florida Governor for its plans to reopen.

The Orange County Economic Recovery Task Force has unanimously approved the proposal. It now goes to the mayor and Governor.

*UPDATE* – The Orlando Mayor has accepted the plan and put it forward to the Governor. The operating hours for June 5th have been added below. Volcano Bay

*Update 2* – The proposed opening has been confirmed and Universal Orlando will be opening on June 5th.

Proposed timeline for Universal Orlando reopening:

June 1-2: Opening to Team Members to help test safety precautions in place
June 3-4: Invited guests, Annual Passholders, and others will come and test those new guidelines
June 5: Open to the public. IOA, Universal and Volcano Bay will be opening.

Team Member ambassadors will be throughout the park to enforce and help with new rules along with regular hand washing breaks.

Universal Orlando will require guests to wear masks. If necessary, they will offer free masks to guests.

Single rider lines and misting effects will be turned off. With Post-show meet and greets also cancelled.

The plans stated a reduce capacity will be allowed in the park but no specific numbers were given.

Here are the opening hours for June 5th.

Universal Studios Florida:
9am-6pm Daily

Universal’s Islands of Adventure
9am-6pm Daily

Universal’s Volcano Bay
10am-5pm Daily

Universal CityWalk Orlando
8am – 10pm Daily

A reservation is not needed in order to visit the theme parks. There may be times when the parks reach capacity and additional guests will not be admitted though.

Cashless transactions will be promoted for use within the park.

Once the Governor and Mayor has approved the proposal then plans can move forward with its reopening.
