Our first photo update of Islands of Adventure
Join us as we take a look around at the growing number of construction walls on this short trip to Islands of Adventure. This is our first photo update as we look at what is new and changing around the park including some photos of the new Jurassic Park coaster construction site.

Let’s get to it.
As we head into the park Christmas decorating is in full force in the entrance way adding tinsel and decorations over the entrance arch way.
Next up we have a little look across the lagoon at the on going Jurassic Park coaster construction going on in front of the Discovery Center.
At this time of day it’s hard to see the small details of construction but it sure does look pretty.
Jurassic Park Update
Here is the crane barge from across the lagoon with the bridge pathway between Lost Continent and Jurassic Park in the background.
Here is the other side of the Discovery Center where the old Triceratops Encounter used to be. The lighting at this time doesn’t make it the easiest to see but the fence at the background in the below photo is the new walkway through the construction site.
As we move on around the lagoon out the back of the Mythos restaurant it’s a bit easier to see what construction has been going on. Starting with a close up of the crane barge and various pipes ready to be laid.
And now a look at the reconfigured shoreline of the project. If you haven’t already seen it, check out this great breakdown of the project over at Orlando Parkstop from Alicia Stella. This goes into detail on what the new waters edge will look like.
This is the work going on in next to Popeye’s which is currently closed until December for maintenance. If you look close enough you can see some footers appearing on the left hand side of the image below.
Here is a final scenic overview of the construction site.
Jurassic Park Walkway
Now we head over to the Jurassic Park area and take a look at the new pathway that opened up recently causing a dead end pathway to open up in the area.
Here we can see a new structure popping up where the path splits. Left goes to River Adventure and right is the new pathway that leads to the Discovery Center.
Below is a close up of the new structure.
and in relation to the Discovery Center.
Continuing down the pathway provides another angle.
Here is a look at the new pathway complete with potted plants.
That pretty much completes the update for the Jurassic Park area. Elsewhere in the park we still have plenty of construction walls though.
Toon Lagoon
Popeye and Bluto’s is still under refurbishment until December 22nd and is behind a construction fence.
Elsewhere in Toon Lagoon I haven’t noticed this sign for Comic Strip Cafe before. It looked temporary, is it new?
Seuss Landing
Over in Seuss landing they are getting ready for Grinchmas with decorations popping up over the land.
One fish two fish is behind work walls however the ride was testing meaning it can’t be long before we see the walls come down. November 12th (today) was the last date of seasonal maintenance according to Parkscope.
At the entrance to Seuss Landing the other side of the pathway is under refurbishment. This leads to quite a narrow walkway entering and exiting the land.
Here is what the recently painted side now looks like below
